How matching works
Colors come from SpoolmanDB, an open filament database where every entry is taken from the manufacturer’s product page or spec sheet. Hue3D compares your color with every spool the way the human eye sees color, using the CIEDE2000 color-science standard, and turns the difference into a match score.
- 98% and up looks identical.
- 95% and up is hard to tell apart even side by side.
- 90% and up is a close match for most prints.
Printed color still varies with lighting, layer height and batch, and silks and translucents shift the most with print settings. Check the product photos before you buy.
